Ceremonial cacao delivered at your home
Cacao is a seed from the tree Theobroma cacao, which means “food of the gods”. In Central America, it has been cultivated and used ceremonially for 3500 years. It has been highly esteemed by Mayans, Olmecs, Toltecs, and Aztecs—all of whom have led spiritually rich existences. Cacao is a “medicine food”, meaning that it provides nourishment on both a physiological as well as emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. At L.E.D, we use Guatamalan Cacao.
Like many great things, transforming cacao from a raw material into a magical substance is a great art requiring care and organization. Cacao fruits resemble big footballs filled with about forty seeds, each the size of the top knuckle on your pointer finger. The seeds are fermented in the flesh for about one week, dried, toasted, and peeled with love. Finally, they are ground and melted into a form that is easily usable.
